I tried to buy this tool box from Sears in Kennewick, WA. in OCT. The one they had on the floor was damage and they told me they could NOT sell it to me. So I decided to buy one and put it on lay-a-way with the understanding that when it was paid off I would have the box within 2 weeks. I paid it off ahead of time around the 15th of Dec. Sears told me that my tool box would be in on Jan 15th. I have been a cross country truck for over 35 yrs. So I know how long it takes to move items across country. It is now the 7th of Jan and Sears told me today that the company that makes this tool box doesn’t know when they will be supplying them again to Sears.

Well let me tell you Jim. I went into Sears in Ventura, Ca today and they had it on the floor with a sale price on it. I went to order it and they said that it was not in and they had no idea when it would. That made me mad beacuse they had it on the floor with a price and it was not able to purchase or order. They made it seam that Sears and Viper were in a stand off. If it was me I would not buy from Sears ever. I really liked the box but after the Sears issue I am going to put some thought in to the purchase. SHAME ON SEARS !!!!!!!!!!!!
We are not at a stand off. The issue is Sears will not let us ship product until after their fiscal year of January 31st. If you would like to contact us directly we may be able to help rectify the situation for you. Sorry for the problems you were having with Sears. The product has done far better then they expected but we are working on getting the stores restocked.
To all. I sent an email to Brain Eastman at Cala Industries who makes the Viper Tool boxes. He then want my phone number. He explained what Shelly is saying it is ALL SEARS NOT !!!!!!! Cala Industries. Mr. Eastman will be sending me an email later day. If I was you people Google Viper Tool Boxes they will stand behind their products.
I had a similar problem with a sears in San Bruno, CA. I went to buy this box, and they said they couldn’t order it. Then I asked when I could order it, they said after the 19th. So I came today and tried to order it, but they had sold the floor model! I would have bought the floor model if I had known that it was the last one. Shame on Sears. Not even the 1-800 sears number knew what was going on with the item. They said they might not be carrying them anymore and that the only way I could get one is to buy a floor model. I really liked this tool box but the hassle isn’t worth it.

It seems this is a nation wide problem with Sears. I am in Indiana and am having the same issue. I see you say you have them in stack but the price on your web site is much greater then Sears has them on sale now. Why would Sears put them on sale if they new they would not get them before the end of the sale.
Sears runs general sales by category. So that is why our item always appears on sale even though they are out of stock. As for the price difference you can call into our office and we can see what shipping would be and get you as close as possible to the Sears price. If you want to wait for Sears to be back in stock product has an in store date of March 25. Amazon.com also stocks them on the East Coast.
We are having the same problem in Hawaii. Website say “not available in my area”. Went to the nearest one here in Honolulu and they have one sitting on the floor but price is much higher than web price. Went to the site’s chat and asked how can the site say not available when one is in the store? I was told that they have to upgrade the stock. After two months, they still say the same thing – not in stock. I like the tool box but can’t buy it from Sears. I wish Viper would find another store to sell their products.
Sears stock is being replenished Most of the stores should be back in stock the end of March and the beginning of April. We understand the frustration and are working with the buying team to make sure this doesnt happen again.
