Key Issues

PROBLEM: Key Not Unlocking
- Possible Causes:
  - Dirt or debris in the lock
  - Item in top drawer is blocking the lock mechanism
  - Damaged or worn-out key
- Solutions:
  - Check that the key is the same code as the lock
  - Clean the lock with compressed air to remove the dirt or debris
  - Apply a small amount of WD-40 to the lock
  - Ensure the key is fully inserted before turning
  - If the key is damaged, you will need a replacement
PROBLEM: Lost Key
- Possible Causes:
  - Misplacement or loss of the key
- Solutions:
  - Check for a backup key (our keys come in sets of 2)
  - Order replacement keys
  - If this is a new purchase and you cannot find the keys in the drawer, remove the bottom drawer and check behind
    - Occasionally the keys fall back there during shipping
  - If you have an older model and we do not have keys available, you will need to replace the lock

PROBLEM: Drawer Will Not Open
- Possible Causes:
  - Obstruction in the drawer
  - Misalignment of the drawer slides
  - Locking mechanism engaged
- Solutions:
  - Check for and remove any obstructions
    - If your toolbox is heavy or bolted down (such as in a mobile grooming van), you may need to wiggle the box or drive around some corners to dislodge the obstruction.
  - Realign the drawer by pushing the lifted side down into place
  - Ensure the locking mechanism is disengaged
PROBLEM: Drawer Slides Are Stuck or Jammed
- Possible Causes:
  - Dirt or debris in the slides
  - Lack of lubrication
  - Bent or damaged slides
- Solutions:
  - Clean the slides thoroughly to remove dirt or debris
  - Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the slides
  - If slides are bent or damaged, replace them with new slides
PROBLEM: Drawer Falls Open
- Possible Causes:
  - Worn or broken detents
  - Overloaded drawer
  - Misalignment of drawer slides
- Solutions:
  - Replace the detents
  - Reduce the weight in the drawer
  - Realign the drawer slides

PROBLEM: Casters Will Not Roll Smoothly
- Possible Causes:
  - Dirt or debris in the wheels
    - This can be common in hair and pet salons
  - Worn-out or damaged casters
  - Overloaded toolbox
- Solutions:
  - Clean the casters to remove any dirt or debris
  - Replace worn-out or damaged casters
  - Ensure the toolbox is not loaded beyond its weight capacity
PROBLEM: Caster Will Not Swivel
- Possible Causes:
  - Dirt or debris in the swivel mechanism
  - Rust or corrosion
  - Worn-out swivel bearing
- Solutions:
  - Clean the swivel mechanism to remove dirt and debris
  - Apply a penetrating oil to the swivel mechanism
  - Replace the caster if the swivel bearing is worn out

PROBLEM: Toolbox Handle is Loose or Broken
- Possible Causes:
  - Loose screws or bolts
  - Handle damage
- Solutions:
  - Tighten any loose screws or bolts
  - Replace the handle if it is damaged beyond repair
PROBLEM: Toolbox Hinges Are Squeaky or Stiff
- Possible Causes:
  - Lack of lubrication
  - Dirt or debris in the hinges
- Solutions:
  - Apply a small amount of lubricant to the hinges
  - Clean the hinges to remove dirt and debris

PROBLEM: Rust on Toolbox
- Possible Causes:
  - Exposure to moisture
- Solutions:
  - Clean the rusted area with a wire brush or sandpaper
  - Apply a rust inhibitor or primer to the cleaned area
  - Paint over the area with a rust-resistant paint

Regularly clean and lubricate all moving parts, including drawer slides, casters, and hinges.
Keep the toolbox dry to prevent rust.
Avoid overloading drawers and ensure even weight distribution to prevent strain on slides and caster.
Periodically check for and tighten any loose screws or bolts.
